About HomeCheck
HomeCheck is a field guide for the place you live: a free workspace for walking through a home, writing down what you find, and understanding what the repairs might cost.
What the app does
HomeCheck breaks a home into seven inspection areas — roofing, exterior, structure, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, and interior — and gives you a checklist for each one. Every item is marked Pass, Attention, Defect or N/A, with room for a note and a photo. When you flag something, HomeCheck lists the repairs that usually follow and prices them for your area, then totals them into a repair plan. From there you can print the inspection report or save it as a PDF, and look up local trades for the work you have flagged.
Who it’s for
HomeCheck is written for homeowners who want a record of their own property, for buyers and sellers documenting condition around a move, for landlords and property managers keeping move-in and move-out notes, and for inspectors who want a clear summary they can hand to a homeowner. Choose the standard checklist for a quick pass through the house, or the detailed set when you want to go further in every area. No inspection background is assumed — each area explains what you are looking at and what a problem usually means.
Who builds it
HomeCheck is an independent project. It is built and maintained by a small team rather than a franchise or a lead-generation network, and it is designed to keep your information with you: your checklist answers, notes and photos are stored in your own browser, so the workspace works without an account and without sending your home’s details anywhere.
